Your career in the UK

UK Graduate Programme

The UK Graduate Programme is a development programme which prepares passionate and talented individuals for a future role within our company. Its long-term purpose is to fill Bombardier Transportation’s future global talent pipeline as a key element of our competitive foundation for great talent globally.

The Graduate Programme is generally two years in length with the Graduate Trainee moving from their Home Function, into various Host Functions in order to gain experience and competence. The structure of the graduate programme has been created to allow flexibility for the individual. Each rotation can be as long or a short as is required for you to meet your development needs. The first six months give you grounding in your Home Function as it is generally anticipated that this is where your First Appointment will be when you complete the programme.

By having an expert mentor, you will receive the continuous support and training needed to gain a relevant professional accreditation. Within a short time, you will be ready to apply your talents to an even wider range of projects.

Check out our graduate schemes and apply by April 30, 2020!

Other career opportunities

It’s an exciting time to be part of the rail sector in Britain. Investment in the development of the UK’s rail network is set to reach an all time high and rail projects are being prioritized at a national and local level. This underlines what we at Bombardier have long believed – Rail is good for the economy and it’s good for the environment. What’s more, it’s driven by popular demand – today’s travellers are choosing rail.

Here in the UK, we’ve consistently delivered on our commitments and challenged ourselves and the sector to raise the bar higher with improved rolling stock and services. Our track record speaks for itself. We have built, or have on order, 60 % of the UK’s trains and are contracted to service over 5,000 vehicles.

Our new MOVIA metro trains are making a vast difference on the Victoria and subsurface lines in London, offering increased capacity and improving reliability.

We are delighted that Blackpool and Lancashire Council became the global launch customer for our FLEXITY 2 trams, choosing the world’s best tram technology to make its debut here in the UK. And behind the scenes, our Services teams, based at 30 locations across the UK, provide exceptional support on an ongoing basis to maximize the reliability and availability of our customers’ fleets.

At Bombardier, your future is yours to define. You’re not just someone who works here… you’re one of the people who drives our success. That’s why we’re committed to attracting and retaining the right talent by providing an environment to develop a fulfilling career at Bombardier.
