Stéphane Wettstein has held various leadership positions for over 20 years in the rolling stock industry and has led the subsidiary of Bombardier in Switzerland since 1st July 2009 as Managing Director and Chief Country Representative of Bombardier Transportation (Switzerland) Ltd.

After finishing vocational training in machine mechanics and extra occupational education in operating technology HF, he discerned various functions in the industry and educated himself in the area of General Management and Leadership. He was able to contribute his many years of professional experience in internationally active companies such as BBC, ABB and DaimlerChrysler Rail Systems.

As a board member of many associations and organisations such as LITRA public transportation information server, swissmem employers' association, Swissrail industry association - rolling stock and supplier industry, ivz industry association Zurich and libs Industrielle Berufslehren Schweiz, he continues to campaign for a strong Swiss economy, public transportation and the dual vocational training system of Switzerland. He is an expert for operating technology and postgraduate studies courses at the ABB Technikerschule (technical school).

Stéphane Wettstein is married, has two grown children and lives in the city of Zurich. He likes to spend his free time with family and friends. While travelling, he likes to discover other countries and cultures and has played the trombone in a carnival marching band in Central Switzerland for years.
