We move cities - Kuala Lumpur

In just a few decades Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur has evolved into a bustling, glittering, internationally renowned metropolis and one of the fastest-growing cities in Asia. Backed by the Malaysian Government’s Transformation Programme to fully establish Kuala Lumpuras a world-class city, the economic and political centre of the country offers increasing opportunities for work and prosperity

It’s no surprise that  Kuala Lumpur keeps growing. With its natural appeal, the capital city raws in large numbers of new urban-dwellers each year. In addition, the Greater Kuala Lumpur area, known as Klang Valley, is emerging into an ever-expanding agglomeration of many small residential towns. Spread over an area spanning more than 50 kilometres, it is estimated it will be home to over ten million residents by 2020.

Kuala Lumpur is the cultural, financial and economic centre of Malaysia

"10 million people will call the Greater Kuala Lumpur area home by 2020."

In Kuala Lumpur, as in all the world’s growing megacities, people’s mobility needs are multiplying. As a result, traffic congestion is commonplace, not only in the centre but also spreading to the city’s main arteries and into the suburbs. However, Kuala Lumpur is one city that is proactively tackling this issue with the visionary level of investment in rail transportation included in the Malaysian Government's Transformation Programme.

"90 minutes is how long it takes to cross the Klang Valley on the new 51km Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line equipped with CITYFLO 650 rail control."

Here, Bombardier Transportation has been a constructive partner for over two decades, applying a range of its globally-proven rail vehicle, systems and rail control technology.
