Marcin Kowalczyk takes over Head of Ecosystem Cluster Eastern Europe and CIS role
Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation announced today that Marcin Kowalczyk has been named Head of Ecosystem Cluster Eastern Europe and CIS at Bombardier Transportation. In this position, Marcin Kowalczyk will be responsible for sales, market strategy and business development activities in Poland and Eastern Europe. This appointment reinforces Bombardier’s focus and commitment towards building a sustainable business in this strategic region while improving the company’s competitiveness.

During his 36 years of rich working experience, Marcin Kowalczyk has gained international experience managing manufacturing companies in Poland, Czech Republic, China, Germany, Russia and Nigeria. Among others he was President and CEO of Axtone, a key producer of railway components, and previously held various positions at ABB Group. He graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics and holds a Master of Economics degree.
Bombardier is the largest international investor in the rail transportation industry in Poland. It has more than 2,000 employees in Katowice, Łódź, Warsaw and Wrocław. Its wide range of business activities includes the production of locomotive, passenger vehicles and high-speed train car bodies, bogie frames, design and production of rail control and signalling systems, the production of electric devices and equipment as well as maintenance of rail vehicles.
