Last week, Prof. Dr. Uwe Lahl, Ministerial Director for Transport of the State of Baden-Württemberg, and the managements of Abellio and Bombardier got together. Among other things, they discussed how many BOMBARDIER TALENT 2 trains will be available for the start of operations by Abellio in the Stuttgart/Neckartal network and when a subsequent delivery of the still outstanding vehicles for the first operating stage of Abellio will be possible. Bombardier created a delivery schedule that will enable Abellio to assume regular operation in Baden-Württemberg, as part of the first stage of operations:
"After intensive discussions, we are now satisfied to be able to implement this plan which enables Abellio to begin regular operation in the Neckartal regional network with our TALENT 2 trains, as part of the first operating phase. The new trains feature bright, friendly passenger areas, spacious and comfortable seating, wifi and multi-purpose areas that meet requirements of all passengers”, said Michael Fohrer, Head of Bombardier Germany.
By December, Bombardier will be supplying 18 three-car trains for Abellio's second operating phase, which will be used on the lines from Stuttgart via Heilbronn to Osterburken and Mannheim.
