Global mobility leader Bombardier Transportation is proud to be the Premium Gold Sponsor at this year’s AusRAIL PLUS, cementing Bombardier’s position as both a rail industry leader and enabler. At the event, Bombardier will launch its scholarship program, which will enable ten young professionals to attend the event in Sydney on December 3-5. This is an initiative that will provide the next generation of industry leaders with an opportunity to network and learn more about the rail industry. In addition, Bombardier is proud to sponsor AusRAIL PLUS’s Rail Track Association Australia Yellow Tie Dinner for the seventh year.
“Bombardier in Australia is delighted to sponsor the AusRAIL PLUS event again in 2019. As Australia’s only local end-to-end manufacturer of trains and trams, it is important that we demonstrate our commitment to the local rail sector, and use this opportunity to express our gratitude to the Australasian Railway Association (ARA), state governments, industry partners, local suppliers, and of course the community,” said Wendy McMillan, President, Southeast Asia and Australia, Bombardier Transportation.
“This year, I’m delighted that ten emerging leaders have the opportunity to attend AusRAIL PLUS through Bombardier’s scholarship program. Fostering the next generation of industry talent is important to us, but more importantly to the whole industry. As an Australian manufacturer with more than 70 years investment in this country, it is extremely important that we do all we can to ensure the next generation takes us forward with the same success that the previous generation did.”
The will allow numerous young professionals from Australia’s rail sector to attend the three-day AusRAIL PLUS conference to hone their industry knowledge, build important networks and discuss future trends with leaders from the rail industry. Scholarship entrants submitted an idea that could either disrupt or bring greater awareness to the rail industry in Australia and New Zealand. They were judged on the benefits, quality and relevance of their idea. After much deliberation and many entries to the independent judging panel, ten winners were selected including Andre Soriano, Graduate Engineer at Bombardier Transportation in Australia.
