Incorporated in 1996, Bombardier Transportation Singapore has been a reliable and anticipating partner providing urban transit solutions in Singapore for more than two decades. Today, Bombardier has supplied transportation and signalling systems to Singapore’s Downtown MRT Line, as well as the Bukit Panjang LRT Line with site offices at the Gali Batu and Bukit Panjang depots. Employing skilled engineering expertise, the Singapore team works directly with the local rail authority and operator to design next-generation trains and provide system solutions to optimize performance and reliability.
With Bombardier’s 276 fully automated metro cars running underground in Singapore, our fleet has the world’s longest driverless mass rapid transit line at 42km transporting more than half a million passengers per day, contributing to Singapore’s plan to strengthen the country’s rail infrastructure with the target to expand the rail network to 360km by 2030. Bombardier Singapore is ready to continue meeting Singapore’s mobility needs with our high-performance vehicles, signalling systems and integrated fleet support.
Bombardier is making mobility more efficient and sustainable than ever before, continuously delivering latest rail technologies and ensuring commuters arrives punctually, safely and comfortably at their destination, soaring to new heights with Singapore.
As a complete system provider, Bombardier efficiently and effectively manages complex transportation system projects with multiple suppliers and partners – making us a one stop provider in Singapore. Over the last 20 years, Bombardier has delivered 276 driverless MOVIA metro cars for Singapore’s Downtown Line and 13 INNOVIA APM 100 automated people mover cars for the Bukit Panjang Line with our CITYFLO rail control solution. In 2018, two new asset replacement contracts were awarded to supply 19 new INNOVIA APM 300 cars, to retrofit 13 existing APM 100 cars and to deliver a signalling system upgrade for 13 stops on the Bukit Panjang LRT Line, as well as to supply 396 MOVIA metro cars for Singapore’s North-South and East-West Lines.
The new order of 396 metro cars for the North-South and East-West Lines bring the number of MOVIA vehicles in Singapore to 672, making it one of Bombardier’s largest metro fleet in the world, demonstrating Singapore’s Land Transport Authority’s confidence in long-term partnership with Bombardier Transportation.
In July 25, 2018, Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) ordered 396 new MOVIA Metro vehicles.
In 2008, Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) ordered 219 driverless, state-of-the-art MOVIA metro from Bombardier. The fleet of 73 three-car automated MOVIA trains will run on the fully underground Singapore Downtown Line (DTL) at a length of 42 km, the longest driverless underground mass rapid transit line in the world transporting almost half a million passengers a day.
